Community Cleanup A Clean Sweep

Here are SOME photos from the cleanup day, April 18, 2009.

Dudley Pond -- Lowrys

The Lowrys – Mike and Karen (above)– collected litter on Dudley Pond using a boat. They found the usual shoe, bottle, coffee cups… and a safe. The safe (two photos below), they discovered was cut open with a torch and was suspect enough to call the police, who are continuing to investigate.

Wayland Cleans Up! organizer Cliff Kolovson (far right) – and part of his clean up crew that worked at the Whole Foods parking lot and wetlands off to the west. Road Trash

Joan Blair, Betsy Salzberg and Sandy Coy not only gathered more than 5 bags of litter from Pelham Island Road and the access road to the Town Building, they found $20 in various size bills among the litter.
